Folkie Fest: Out in Moriches Field

Celebrating the music of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp with a healthy dose of original music.

Last year’s jaunt to Moriches Field Brewing Company was so well received we will be doing it twice this summer. For those who like a brew (or glass of wine) with their music, these events are for you! As always we bring a mix of emerging and established artists sharing original works with a nod to familiar songs from well-loved mainstream artists. Joining us for the first time is Bob Sinclair, and for the first time in a long time, Natalie and the Damn Shandys are sure to please those who enjoy Americana with a bit of a country flair. Folkie Friends Fred Riamondo and Greta Quezada, Dawn Banks and Robert Bruey will add substance to the lineup. Rounding out the evening will be a very special guest to be announced later due to contractual restrictions. You won’t be disappointed!

Fred Raimondo is a an accomplished singer-songwriter based on Long Island’s East End. He is a regular performer at many of the Island’s musical venues including clubs such as the Stephen Talkhouse, 89 North and 230 Down as well as many songwriter showcases and house concerts. Currently singing songs and telling stories as the musical partnership of Fred Raimondo and Greta Quezada

Bob Sinclair, a long-time member of Songwriters of Long Island (SLI), has been playing guitar and writing songs since 2016. Bob performs his original songs at several Long Island open mic events, and recently had the honor of performing at the Bluebird Café in Nashville. Bob has studied songwriting with Jorma Kaukonen, at the Fur Peace Ranch, and locally at the West Hampton Beach Performing Arts Center with Fred Raimondo.

Dawn Banks is a singer songwriter coming into her own voice. Her sweet, sexy, and soulful compositions accompanied by her sultry vocals and blues harp along with acoustic guitar take you along on her journey. She has a wide range of life experience to draw on and will draw you in.

Singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist Robert Bruey grew up in rural New England and lives on Long Island’s North Fork. His roots and how they have helped to shape him are reflected in the original music on his last released CD, ‘Carousel’ and are even more evident during a live performance. Robert Bruey’s music is honest and real, raw and meaningful, gritty and naturalistic. His unique finger-picking style -- with notes carefully left alone to be heard in the moment -- provides a perfect complement for his earthy, soulful voice and the meaningful, introspective lyrics of his songs. Robert paints with words, imbuing his songs with imagery that enables listeners to visualize his stories as he sings them.
