NEW YORK CITY — The threat of flooding is growing in New York City, as bursts of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the end of the week, forecasters said.

The latest rainy weather pattern is the result of a slow-moving storm system stalling over the northeast and mid-Atlantic region, causing continuous rounds of rain, thunderstorms and fog in New York City through Friday, AccuWeather forecasters said.

Flash flooding is possible, FOX Weather forecasters say, but there won't be significant flooding due to the scattered timing of the downpours.
