Bold Robber Targets Chelsea Straphanger In Midday Mugging: NYPD
The thief threatened a man with a simulated weapon and made off with hundreds in property, police said.

CHELSEA, NY — A brazen robber threatened a man with a simulated weapon in broad day light at a bustling Chelsea subway station, police said.
The thief approached the 25-year-old victim at the 14th Street station on the 1 line Tuesday at 1 p.m. as the man was exiting the station, authorities said.
The robber simulated a concealed weapon and demanded the man hand over his belongings. He grabbed the victim's cell phone, sunglasses and Metrocard worth an estimated $300 and fled the station, police said.

Officials describe the man as in his 20s and was last seen wearing a black do-rag, a gray hoodie and a red shirt.
