Chelsea's Favorite Pup Park Returns, New Water Trough Delights Doggos
Jemmy's Dog Run reopened this week within Madison Square Park, just south of West 25th Street. Here's what to know.

CHELSEA, NY — A dog park popular among Chelsea residents reopened this week with a larger space and overall improvements for puppy playing fun.
Jemmy's Dog Run, within Madison Square Park just south of the West 25th Street entrance, has been closed for the majority of the year as the park worked to make improvements to the space.
The now-reopened dog run has added 200 square feet to its footprint, installed improved lighting, clean water sources, more seating, benches, and umbrellas.

Additionally, the dog run has added new play surfaces for the canines, including turf and hills.
"We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our donors for helping bring this project to fruition," the Madison Square Park Conservancy said in an announcement for the reopening. "The Conservancy is so grateful for the community’s support throughout this renovation, and we can’t wait to welcome you and your pups to the new space."

The dog park has always been a well liked one by the Lower Manhattan community.
The Village Voice named it the No. 1 dog park in New York City.
The dog run has dozens of positive reviews online, many of them commenting on the helpful shade the trees over the park provide, as well as its consistent level of maintenance.
