Chelsea Robber Who Attacked 80-Year-Old Arrested, Police Say

The man is accused of violently pushing an 80-year-old woman to the ground as she entered her apartment.

CHELSEA, NY — A robber who attacked an 80-year-old woman as she entered her Chelsea apartment earlier this month was arrested on Monday, police said.

Thomas Davis, 54, was arrested Monday and charged with robbery in the second and third degrees, the NYPD said in a statement. Patch was not immediately able to locate a defense attorney for Davis.

Police said that on April 12 about 3:45 p.m., the 80-year-old woman was headed to her home in the Penn South housing complex, near Ninth Avenue and West 28th Street.

Davis allegedly followed the woman into the building and then into her apartment. He then pushed the old woman to the ground, shoving her to the floor as she walked into her apartment's door, police said.

Davis is accused of grabbing $150 in cash before running away from the building.
