The Chelsea store will mark Chip City Cookies’ 40th brick and mortar storefront. There are already over a dozen Chip City Cookies stores in the five boroughs, with locations in the West Village, Williamsburg, Rockefeller Plaza, Upper West Side and Upper East Side.

The chain’s first New Jersey location opened earlier this year.

Most recently, Chip City received a $10 million investment from Shake Shack founder Danny Meyer.

The franchise began in Astoria, Queens in 2017 when childhood friends Peter Phillips and Teddy Gailas challenged each other on who could make the best cookie, Patch previously reported. Each store features a rotating menu of cookies, with novelty flavors like horchata, cookies and cream and frootie crunch, as well as classic options like peanut butter and jelly, blueberry cheesecake and brookie – brownie and cookie, that is.
