MIDTOWN, NY - A Manhattan man was charged after reportedly robbing an Old Navy Herald Square location and punching a female employee who tried to stop him, authorities said.

Ramon Martinez, 51, of the Upper West Side, was charged with robbery after grabbing merchandise and attempting to leave without paying the store at 150 West 34th St. about 5:10 p.m., police said.

When a 35-year-old employee of the store attempted to stop Martinez, he punched her and fled, police said.

It was not immediately clear if the woman suffered any physical injuries or sought treatment for the punch.
