Layoffs Coming For 130+ Google Contract Workers: NY Dept. Of Labor
Most of the contractors are based out of the 8th Avenue Google building in Chelsea, according to New York Department of Labor documents.

CHELSEA, NY - Layoffs are coming for scores of New York-based Google contractors, according to documents obtained by Patch.
California-based Allied Universal Security Services will be laying off all of its 137 New York employees by Dec. 31, according to the New York State Department of Labor’s Warn Unit. The layoffs come after a recent contract loss with the internet giant.
The layoffs will impact 52 employees at Google’s office at 111 8th Ave., plus a handful of other contractors based at 76 9th Ave., 154 West 14th St., 85 10th Ave., 134 N. 6th St., 29 11th Ave., 315-345 Hudson St. and 550 Washington St.

Allied Universal Security Services provides security, technology and professional services, according to its website. Employees were notified on Oct. 1, according to the DOL's warn notice.
A request for comment was not immediately returned by Allied Universal Security Services' attorney or the Service Employees International Union.
