Murder Suspect Arrested In Chelsea Homeless Shelter Stabbing: Police
Paul De Medina, 59, was charged with murder for stabbing another resident of The Christopher on West 24th Street, police announced Tuesday.
CHELSEA, NY — A Chelsea homeless shelter resident has been charged with murdering another resident of the facility over the weekend, police said Tuesday night.
Paul De Medina, 59, was charged with murder for stabbing Anthony McEnteer, 62, at The Christopher on West 24th Street near Seventh Avenue about 2:05 p.m. Saturday, police said.
McEnteer, who had been stabbed in the chest, was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital where he later died, police said. The knife was recovered at the scene.

De Medina had lived at the Chelsea shelter for a decade, and that other residents were shocked to hear about the attack, the New York Post reported.
“I’m really shocked…He’s not aggressive. This is mind blowing,” a woman who at the shelter who gave her name as Lizzy told the Post. “Someone must have aggravated him. He’s a nice guy."
