CHELSEA, NY - A man was shot in the leg during an apparent shooting in Chelsea Sunday evening, authorities said.

The 30-year-old victim was shot about 9:30 p.m. in front of an office building at 167 West 25 St., a NYPD spokesperson told Patch.

Medics rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

There were no arrests made as of Monday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.

As of Monday, New York City has 813 reported shooting incidents so far in 2023, according to city data. That's down 26.3% from the same time the previous year.

This is the first reported shooting in 2023 within the 13th precinct where the shooting took place, according to city data. That’s compared to three reported shootings in the same area this time last year.
