Meth, Child Porn, Sordid Sex Parties: Chelsea Dentist Admits Depraved Acts

The Chelsea dentist admitted owning child pornography.

CHELSEA, NY — A Chelsea dentist pleaded guilty to possessing meth and child pornography and admitted using a basement below his office for sordid sex parties at a court hearing Tuesday.

Dr. John Wolf, who had an office on West 15th Street, was arrested after an undercover agent recorded him admitting to providing free dental services in exchange for meth, which Wolf used himself and distributed to others.

The undercover agent also recorded Wolf, now 61, saying that he used the basement of his Chelsea office for sex parties and that it would be “hot” if he and the agent abused children together, according to the original criminal complaint.

After Wolf was arrested in November 2015, federal agents raided his West Village home and found a flash drive with child pornography on it. The drive include videos of children as young as toddlers being raped by adult men, prosecutors said in 2015.

“I knew it was wrong to possess this material. I'm pleading guilty because I'm guilty of this offense, and for this I'm also sorry,” Wolf said in court on Tuesday, according to the New York Post, which first reported on his guilty plea.

As part of the plea deal that Wolf agreed to, prosecutors said they would seek a prison sentence between nine and 11 years, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn said.

Wolf will be sentenced by a judge who can decide not to follow the prosecution’s recommendation. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

“The heart of this case is a very significant meth addiction, which makes the case very difficult and sad,” Wolf's attorney Marc Agnifilo said Tuesday. “He’s strong and resilient, and he’s taking it head on.”

The criminal complaint unsealed numerous shocking allegations against Wolf, in addition to the child porn and meth charges that he has admitted to.

The informant who first told authorities about Wolf’s after-hours habits said that Wolf, who was HIV positive and a prominent AIDS activist, had said he punctured holes in condoms “in an intentional attempt to spread HIV to his sexual partners,” according to the complaint.

Wolf also told the dealer he frequented underground sex parties where he would have sex with animals.
