Mom Blocks Knifeman From Taking Car With Child In Back Seat: NYPD
The mom blocked the man from driving off with her 16-month-old daughter, police said.
CHELSEA, NY — She's one tough mother.
A mom blocked a knife-wielding carjacker as he tried to steal her car with her 16-month-old daughter in the back seat in Chelsea Thursday afternoon, police said.
The would-be robber approached the 39-year-old woman's car on W. 17th Street and Seventh Avenue while she sat inside it. He opened the door and brandished a knife, demanding she get out of the car.

But the tough-as-nails mom told the man she refused to leave her young daughter in the back seat and blocked him from entering the vehicle, cops said.
The man fled west on W. 17 Street. Police describe him as 25 to 30-years-old, 5-foot-8 and roughly 135 pounds. He was last spotted wearing a red knit cap, a gray and white shirt, gray pants and white socks with black loafers.
