CHELSEA, NY - An Irish cocktail bar inside Moynihan Train Hall, fine dining at a Fifth Avenue hotel and upscale fried chicken.

Autumn is in the air in New York City, and its culinary cornucopia is yet again poised to meet appetites.

Here’s what’s opened - or is slated to open - in the Chelsea area in the coming months:

Lulla (113 W 24th St., Motto by Hilton)

  • The scoop: Expect a modern American twist on Italian classic fare for breakfast, brunch and dinner at the former site of Bar Cicchetti at Chelsea's Motto by Hilton location. Helmed by Renwick Hospitality Group, the collective behind Lindens, Foxtail, Art Midtown and Art Soho, the duplex restaurant offers the likes of hand cut fettuccine, red gem salad, branzino, skirt steak and tiramisu overnight oats.   • Opened: Sept. 6

The Irish Exit (421 8th Ave., Moynihan Train Hall)

  • The scoop: Modern Irish drinks and fare are on tap as part of The Dead Rabbit's sister location inside Moynihan Train Hall. The 216-seat outpost is The Irish Exit's first, featuring a bar program of Irish-made beer, spirits, and cocktails curated by Beverage Director Aidan Bowie and Director of Irish Whiskey Mark McLaughlin. Owners plan to expand to other airport and transit center locations in 2024 and beyond. Hours are 10 a.m. to midnight daily. Browse a menu here.

Cafe Carmellini (250 Fifth Ave.)

  • The scoop: A modern take on Italian-French cuisine from James Beard Award-winning chef Andrew Carmellini at the Fifth Avenue Hotel. “The design imbues the landmark building’s original neoclassical architecture with a maximalist style,” the restaurant’s website reads. “Café Carmellini features a welcoming kitchen, an intimate bar, and balconies offering tête-à-tête dining experiences with a view of the action.”
  • Opening Date: October

COQODAQ (12 E. 22nd St.)

    • The scoop: Is trying fancy fried chicken the stuff of your dreams? With COQODAQ - from the minds behind Michelin-starred Korean barbecue COTE - you will be able to make it a reality at the site of the former Almond bistro. Spearheaded by Executive Chef Seung Kyu Kim, COQODAQ's menu "reimagines Korean fried chicken by elevating every aspect of the experience and placing Korean flavors at the forefront" just as COTE did with Korean barbecue, according to a news release; "Through amber lighting and sexy, dark elements, COQODAQ offers a fried chicken interior unlike anything seen before." We're not quite sure what that means, but we're eager to find out.
