The upscale restaurant Bodega Negra in Chelsea is selling a $500 "platinum pizza" to celebrate National Margarita Day on Wednesday.

CHELSEA, NY — If you're looking for a serious upgrade from your average dollar slice, a Chelsea restaurant is selling a $500 "platinum pizza" this week to celebrate National Margarita Day on Wednesday.
That's right — $500 for one pizza. Bodega Negra is selling its "Platinum Margarita Margherita Pizza" this week. Here's what $500 worth of pizza looks like:

What makes the pizza so pricey? It's a combination of ingredients, including lobster, caviar, black truffle oil and, to celebrate the margarita holiday, patron.

And if you were hoping to get a taste by dining and dashing, the restaurant has put some protections in place to guard the $500 pie: You have to order the pizza 48 hours before your dining time, and you'll have to complete a credit card authorization form and send in a photo copy of your ID before you get to nosh.
The pizza promotion is ongoing. The upscale restaurant is located inside of the Dream Downtown hotel at 355 W 16th St. in Chelsea.
