Man Dies After Jumping In Front Of Train In Chelsea, Police Say
A man died shortly after he jumped in front of an A train on Wednesday.

CHELSEA, NY — A man died after he jumped in front of an A train in a Chelsea subway station on Wednesday morning, police said.
A witness saw the man jump in front of a northbound A train at the station at 14th Street and Eighth Avenue, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. The man suffered "substantial injuries" before he was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities.
Police were not immediately able to identify the man or give more details about the incident. Police said the call reporting the man's injuries came in about 11:18 a.m.
