Rouge Tomate's New Wine Bar and Restaurant Opens in Chelsea
The sustainable eating restaurant with lots of veggies on the menu closed its location on the UES in 2014 due to rising rents.
CHELSEA, NY — The restaurant known for its vegetables and health-conscious menu, Rouge Tomate, opened its new location in Chelsea this weekend. That's a little more than two years after it closed its location on the Upper East Side due to rising rents.
The new location is supposed to be more of a wine bar and less of a formal environment than the original, according to Eater.
"Plants play the most prominent role" in the restaurant's menu, the website says. "Rouge Tomate Chelsea is an unparalleled model for sustainable dining: carefully considerate of what is put on the plate, and forever dedicated to excellent food."
