Stranger Shoves Woman Onto Union Square Train Tracks: NYPD
The heavy-set man fled as nearby commuters pulled the woman to safety, police said.

CHELSEA, NY — A stranger shoved a woman onto the Subway tracks at the Union Square station Thursday morning, police said.
The woman was waiting for an uptown train on the platform of the 4 and 5 lines at 10:30 a.m. when a man pushed the woman, sending her flying into the tracks, cops said.
Nearby commuters quickly rushed to the woman's aide and helped pul her to safety. Luckily, no trains were in or entering the station at the time, police said.

Medics transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect fled the station in an unknown direction. Cops describe the man with a heavy-set build and say he was last seen wearing a black jacket, a beanie hat and a grey hooded shirt.
