CHELSEA, NY - The cause of a fire that erupted inside the walls of a Chelsea apartment building Saturday evening remains under investigation, authorities said.

The blaze at 227 10 Ave. between West 23rd and 24th streets was first reported about 12:10 a.m., fire officials told Patch.

12 units and 60 fire and medical personnel responded to the four-story apartment building, officials said.

The fire was deemed under control about a half hour later. No injuries were reported.
