CHELSEA, NY - A Chelsea pedestrian was tackled and scraped in the face and eyes during a violent cell phone grab last month, authorities said.

The 41-year-old victim was using her cell phone near 10th Avenue and West 17th Street about 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 when an unknown individual tackled her from behind and snatched the device, police said.

A brawl for the phone ensued, resulting in lacerations and scrapes to the victim’s face, nose, and eyes, police said. She reportedly refused medical attention.

The attacker is described as a man between 16 and 20 years old with a medium build, police said. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with yellow writing on the chest, red flannel pajama pants, and black and white sneakers.
