12 Fuel Trucks Inspected At Suffolk Checkpoint By Police

One company was cited for an unsealed meter after trucks were inspected for meter compliance and overall vehicle safety.

COMMACK, NY — A dozen fuel trucks were inspected in Commack by Suffolk police and other county and state agencies on Friday, police said. The checkpoint, at the Crooked Hill Road Inspection Site, ran from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During the checkpoint, four gasoline tanker trucks and eight home heating oil delivery trucks were inspected for meter compliance and overall vehicle safety, police said.

Of the 12 vehicles inspected, one company was cited for an unsealed meter, police said. Police did not have the name of the company. The other 11 vehicles were in compliance.

The inspection was done by the department’s Motor Carrier Safety Section, New York State
Department of Transportation, Suffolk County Department of Weights and Measures and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police.
