3 Tanker Trucks Placed Out Of Service For Safety Violations In Commack
One driver did not possess a license with proper endorsement and had violations for brakes and hazmat placarding, police say.

COMMACK, NY — Three home heating fuel delivery trucks were placed out of service in Commack because of safety violations, officials announced.
Home heating fuel delivery trucks were checked in Commack on Monday by Suffolk County Police Motor Carrier Safety Section officers, along with personnel from the Suffolk County Department of Weights and Measures and the New York State Environmental Conservation Police.
Fifteen tanker trucks were inspected at the Motor Carrier Inspection Site, located on Crooked Hill Road in Commack.

Three were placed out of service for federal and state safety violations, including a driver who did not possess a license with proper endorsement, a brake violation, and a hazmat placarding violation, police said.
Of the nine delivery meters inspected and tested by Suffolk County Weights and Measures, all were found in compliance with regulations and calibration tolerances.

Checkpoints of home heating oil trucks are conducted randomly during the winter to ensure the
commercial vehicles are operating safely and in compliance with federal, state and local regulations, according to Suffolk police.
