UPDATED: Man Killed In Sunken Meadow Parkway Crash, Police Say
The man was ejected after losing control of his car, police say.

COMMACK, NY — A man was killed in a car crash Monday on the Sunken Meadow Parkway near Commack, state police said. John Rector, 77, of Dix Hills, lost control of his 1999 Subaru Forester and the car flipped, smashing into a tree, police said.
Rector was thrown from his car and died, police said.
Police were called to the northbound lanes of the parkway just after 9 a.m. All lanes were closed on the Sagtikos State Parkway heading north near Exit SM2 for Veterans Memorial Parkway and Harned Road, state police confirmed.
