Boy Scout Troop 125B Visits Gravity Vault
Boy Scout Troop 125B has been learning all about High Adventure which is their theme for the month of February.
High Adventure is this month's theme at Boy Scout Troop 125, located in Commack. The theme emphasizes high adventure activities and camps, including Sea Base in the Florida Keys, Bahamas, and US Virgin Islands, Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and Northern Tier in Minnesota and Ontario.
On February 11th, the troop visited Gravity Vault in Melville for an indoor rock-climbing activity. These facilities are beneficial as they introduce scouts to rock climbing and allow each scout to climb according to their ability. Some scouts who were initially hesitant managed to climb higher than they thought they could, while others were able reach the top by the end of the session. More experienced scouts were able to challenge themselves by moving to walls that had increasing levels of difficulty. Encouragement from fellow scouts contributed to a rewarding experience overall.
Scouting offers a unique opportunity for youth participants to learn life skills, understand the importance of community, and form lifelong bonds with fellow scouts.
