Commack 2023-24 School Budget Passes Easily

The two school board candidates ran unopposed.

COMMACK, NY — Residents within the boundaries of the Commack School District on Tuesday voted to pass the 2023-24 school budget by a margin of 1,247 votes to 351.

The district's budget is $222,110,181, up 3.48 percent from last year's. The tax levy is $152,660,104, up 1.99 percent.

Commack Board of Education incumbents William Hender and Susan J. Hermer ran unopposed and were each re-elected to three-year terms. Hender got 1,283 votes, and Hermer received 1,303 votes.
