Man Seriously Injured In Commack Crash

A 25-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital after the four-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon.

COMMACK, NY — A 25-year-old man was seriously injured in a four-vehicle crash in Commack Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to Suffolk police, a woman was driving a 2017 Buick Regal west on Veterans Memorial Highway when she attempted to make a right turn onto Jericho Turnpike at about 2:25 p.m.

The Buick struck a 2016 Nissan Rogue traveling east on Jericho Turnpike about 50 feet west of Ruth Boulevard.

The Rogue, driven by Freddy Roth, flipped on its side and slid into the back of a 2017 GMC pickup truck stopped in the eastbound turning lane of Jericho Turnpike. The pickup truck then struck the rear of a 2010 Honda.

Roth, of Brentwood, was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. There were no other injuries.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452. No criminal charges have been filed.
