Commack Girl Wins National Scholarship For Public Service
Isabella Bartol, a member of the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps, spends 10 hours per week responding to 911 calls in her neighborhood.

COMMACK, NY — Isabella Bartol, a Commack High School student, was awarded a national scholarship for her role in the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps, according to a news release.
Bartol received the Passion for Public Service Scholarship from the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), a nationwide scholarship organization committed to advancing high achieving students and educators.
Bartol spends 10 hours per week responding to 911 calls in her community. This experience has put Bartol on the front lines of emergency response and has given her the opportunity to save her neighbors' lives.

"Ambulance work has allowed me to become physically stronger, while also teaching me valuable life skills," Bartol said in a news release. I have learned the importance of adapting to my surroundings and solving problems at a rapid pace."
