Commack High School Student Recognized for Achievements in Tech
Lakxshanna (Lexie) Raveendran Receives Honorable Mention in the 2022 Awards for Aspirations in Computing (AiC)

COMMACK, NEW YORK—The Commack School District is pleased to announce that the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) has recognized Commack High School senior Lakxshanna (Lexie) Raveendran with an honorable mention in the 2022 Awards for Aspirations in Computing (AiC). Lexie is one of 400 recipients from over 3,500 applicants nationwide, putting her in the top 11 percent of applicants.
Each year, NCWIT recognizes students in grades 9 to 12 who identify as women, genderqueer, or non-binary for their “aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for post-secondary education.” National winners are recognized and celebrated at the National Award Ceremony hosted by Bank of America next month.
