Cops: Man Drove Drunk with Teen in Car

Sean Durham, of St. James, was arrested Thursday night and charged with DWI.

A man was arrested in Commack Thursday night for driving drunk with his teenage daughter in the car, according to Suffolk County police.

Sean Durham, of St. James, was driving his 2007 Honda east on Jericho Turnpike near Calvert Avenue at approximately 8:35 p.m. when a second precinct officer pulled him over for driving erratically with a tail light out.

Upon inspection, the officer determined that Durham, 52, was intoxicated and arrested him. Durham's 15-year-old daughter, who was also in the car, was unharmed and was taken home by a family member, police said.

Police also found Durham to be in possession of cocaine.

Durham was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child—a felony under Leandra's Law—as well as endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

He is scheduled for arraignment Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
