Crime Log: Group Arrested on Drug and Theft Charges

Police say four people stole a television from Target and were then found with drugs.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

  • Four people were arrested on March 30 in Commack on drug and theft charges. According to police, John III Smith from Central Islip, Eugene Gotch, 42, from Shoreham, Tracey Nicosia, 41, from Shoreham and Gwendolyn Hardy, 39, from Coram, were charged with criminal possession of stollen property in the fifth degree after allegedly stealing a 40-inch television from Target on Route 454 in Commack. Police said they found the television in the trunk of a 2013 Ford Explorer at 7:35 p.m. The group was also charged with criminal posession of a controlled subtance in the seventh degree.

  • Jose Villanueva, 39, of Medford, was arrested on Commack Road in Commack on March 30 at 11:25 a.m. on a charge of criminal impersonation in the second degree after he allegedly gave someone's else name to a police officer during a traffic stop.
