Dementia Communication Strategies Event Coming To Suffolk
The program was designed to help dementia caregivers learn to decode verbal and behavioral messages from people with dementia.

COMMACK, NY — An Effective Communication Strategies event for caregivers of dementia patients is slated for the end of July in Commack.
The event, hosted by the Long Island Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, is scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. July 31 at the Smithtown Library- Commack Building, the chapter announced.
The Effective Communication Strategies program of the Alzheimer’s Association was designed to provide practical information and resources to help dementia caregivers learn to decode verbal and behavioral messages from people with dementia.

"The program assists caregivers with identifying behavioral messages and provides more education on the behavioral changes of Alzheimer’s disease," said Taryn Kutujian, senior community education manager for the Alzheimer’s Association Long Island Chapter. "We are here to provide the Long Island community the resources that you need to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia."
