Hooks & Chops Of Long Island Closes
The restaurant, recently named best steakhouse on Long Island, permanently shuttered because of "unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances."
COMMACK, NY — Hooks & Chops, a seafood and steakhouse hybrid in Commack, recently announced its closure on Facebook.
"Due to unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances, head chef and owner Steven Del Lima is saddened to say Hooks & Chops has been forced to close its doors," the restaurant wrote on Facebook. "We'd like to give a big thank you to our loyal staff and clientele for supporting us, and we thank you all for the last two years of service."
The restaurant hinted that Del Lima could return to the culinary scene.

"Please be on the lookout for any new endeavors from Chef Steve and once again thank you for everything."
The restaurant said its closure came as a "shock" to it, and it had no intention of closing "up until the very last minute." As such, Hooks & Chops said it will refund anyone who has a gift card if they email a photo and receipt of the gift card to ChefStevenDelLima@gmail.com.

The restaurant, which was at 6330 Jericho Turnpike, Commack, was named the best steakhouse on Long Island in the 2022 Bethpage Best of Long Island Awards.
Hooks & Chops opened in October 2020.
"There’s nothing like Hooks & Chops in the surrounding area where you can get fresh seafood and also prime, dried steaks to the caliber that we provide," Del Lima told Patch when he opened the restaurant.
