Man Dies In Commack Crash: Police

COMMACK, NY — A man was killed when his car hit a tree in Commack early Saturday, Suffolk police said.

Edward Riley, 58, of Ronkonkoma, was driving a 2023 Chevrolet pickup truck west on Vanderbilt Parkway, near Redleaf Lane, when he drove off the road and crashed into a tree at 4:40 a.m., police said.

Riley, who was alone in the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chevrolet was impounded for a safety check. Detectives asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
