Man Killed In Suffolk Motorcycle Crash: Police

The man was pronounced dead at the scene on Friday night, police say.

COMMACK, NY — A man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Commack on Friday night, Suffolk police said.

James Coogan, 63, of Commack, was riding a 2020 Honda Excelsior motorcycle northbound on Harned Road, west of Florida Avenue, when he crashed his vehicle around 7:20 p.m., police said. Coogan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
