Pedestrian Killed In Suffolk Crash
The pedestrian was struck at an intersection, police say.
COMMACK, NY — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in Commack on Monday night, Suffolk police said.
A 31-year-old Commack woman was driving a 2020 Volkswagen Atlas eastbound on Scholar Lane, at the intersection of Shaker Ridge Lane, when she struck Matthew Conte, 36, of Commack, at 6:10 p.m., police said. Conte was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was brought to a local hospital for evaluation.

The Volkswagen was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
