Police Called To Commack School For Gun Report; It Was An Officer

The officer was at the school for his child, police say.

COMMACK, NY — Suffolk police were called to Sawmill Intermediate School in Commack on Tuesday afternoon for a report of a man with a gun at the school. The man was a police officer who was at the school for his child, police said.

Police would not say which department the officer was from.

A school employee called officers to the school, at 103 New Highway, Commack, around 12:20 p.m., police said.
