Project HEAL is a non-profit founded by three teenage girls who have fully recovered from eating disorders, including 2009 Commack High School graduate Liana Rosenman. To date, the organization has raised more than $130,000 to provide eating disorder treatment for sufferers who cannot afford it. When they're not studying for their next college exam, Rosenman and her co-founders counsel peers and speak to high school students about society's obsession with body image, which often contributes to eating disorders.
The suggested donation for the inaugural meeting is $10, which is tax deductible.
