'Royal Pains' Cast Helps Raise $10K for Suffolk Y JCC's Kamp Hope

Popular TV show's cast appeared in Commack on Saturday evening.

More than 200 fans of the popular television show "Royal Pains" had a chance to meet the cast while donating to a local cause this Saturday.

Actor Mark Feuerstein, starring as a Hamptons-based doctor on USA Network's "Royal Pains" appeared at a charity fundraiser at the Suffolk Y JCC on Saturday, Newsday reports.

The event's ticket sales raised roughly $10,000 for a new program, Kamp Hope, an outreach program for children who have parents diagnosed with cancer.

“In most episodes of the show, we deal with situations where the characters are remedied by the end of an episode,” Feuerstein told Newsday. “We don’t deal with cancer on ‘Royal Pains’ because it does not fit that model. It is a situation that is ongoing. We are thrilled to participate in something that in some way helps families that are dealing with it.”

Feuerstein along with his castmates Ben Shenkman, who plays Dr. Jeremiah Sacani, and Michael B. Silver, playing Leo Cohen, did a question-and-answer session with attendees.
