Teen Night Returns to Hoyt Farm

Event will provide a drug-and alcohol-free environment for middle schoolers.

The Smithtown Youth Bureau and the Smithtown Parks Department, Recreation Department and Department of Public Safety are teaming up to present the second installation of teen nights at throughout the summer.

Teen nights are open to middle school students who reside in the Town of Smithtown and attend schools within the Commack, Smithtown, Kings Park and Hauppauge districts. The program kicks off on Monday, July 11 at 6 p.m. Subsequent teen nights will be held on July 25 and August 8.

The teen nights will offer kids the opportunity to hang out in a supervised, alochol- and drug-free environment. Activities for each night include basketball, arts & crafts, bocce, volleyball and several competitions.

Youth in the town will be supervised in a drug and alcohol free environment. Staff members from the town departments and community volunteers will be on hand to oversee the evening’s events.  There will be an array of activities and games the young people can participate in such as basketball, arts and crafts, volleyball, horseshoes, bocce, games, and competitions.

Summer teen nights are a great way for young people to get together and enjoy their summer vacation without having to worry about their safety," said Patsy Hirschhorn, Executive Director of the Smithtown Youth Bureau, in a statement.

There is no cost to attend the teen nights.
