Homicide Investigation Program with Long Island Sisters in Crime
The Long Island chapter of the Sisters in Crime will be welcoming a special guest speaker on July 27 from noon– 2 p.m., at the Half Hollow Hills Library, 55 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills. Retired NYPD Detective Sergeant Joseph Giacalone, the former Commanding Officer of the Bronx Homicide Cold Case Squad will lead the program. He is the author of "The Criminal Investigation Function," now in its second edition.

Northgate Shopping Center Car Show
Head down to the Northgate Shopping Center on Jericho Turnpike in Commack to see the best of class cars in an auto show each Monday night.

Health to Hollywood Talent Show
Health to Hollywood is a talent show North Shore-LIJ Health System is having to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. Each night 10-15 talented acts will take the stage to vie for the most talented of the night. The winners of the three preliminary nights will be invited back to perform in the grand finale on June 27. For information on how to be part of the competition, please contact Lisa

Farmers Market at TFCU
One can find delicious, local food including handmade French crepes, specialty pickles, live crabs, freshly picked strawberries, vegetables, honey, breads, baked goods, flowers and more at the Teachers Federal Credit Union farmers market, open every Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. this summer at 102 Motor Pkwy., Hauppauge.
