The state commissioner of education recently changed the public schools’ testing calendar, which will require exams to take place in late June. Those changes will delay the start and end of the school year.
The first day of school for students will be Sept. 9, however teachers and staff will come in Sept. 4 for a conference day. The district is then closed for Rosh Hashana on Sept. 5 and 6. Classes will conclude on June 26, or possibly June 27, if an additional snow make-up day is needed.
