20 Students Graduate From North Babylon's ENL Program

Twenty students celebrated their graduation from North Babylon School District's Saturday English as a New Language Academy.

BABYLON, NY— Congrats are in order for 20 students who've been learning English as a new language.

On May 4, 20 graduates from North Babylon School District’s Saturday English as a New Language Academy celebrated their accomplishment with a celebration at North Babylon High School.

Surrounded by family and friends, each student was called up by their teachers to receive their certificate of completion in the program. Perfect attendance and distinction awards were also given out.

The participants in the nine-week program included both ENL adult education and elementary students.

“Thank you all for being here on Saturdays and for your dedication to completing this program,” said Gaetano Vaccaro, the district’s director of ENL and World Languages.

Following the ceremony, the graduates shared a potluck meal with foods from their different countries of origin.
