Alumni Report: Jacob Makes A Strong Pitch For Bryant College

Lacrosse

• Brian Kennedy of North Babylon, a freshman at American International College (AIC), scored a goal in the Yellow Jackets 18-6 loss to Saint Rose. The main faceoff player for the team, Kennedy finished his first college season with 10 points (7G, 3A) and led AIC with 57 groundballs.

• Quinnipiac’s Marissa Caroleo of North Babylon was selected as the Northeast Conference (NEC) Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year in a vote by the league’s head coaches. She led the Bobcats in goals (45) this spring, recorded a point in every game this season and had multiple points in 14 of 15 games.

• Mercy College junior attackman Mike Marzocca of North Babylon had three goals as the Mavericks edged Pace 8-7 this past Wednesday. He scored the game-winning goal with 5:26 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Courtney Cook of Deer Park had five saves for Farmingdale State as the Rams defeated Kean 21-5 this past Wednesday. In the win, North Babylon High School graduate Nicole Marzocca had four goals and one assist. On Saturday, Cook had 11 saves in a 14-12 loss to Montclair State. In the loss Marzocca had four goals and one assist.

Softball

Jennifer Jacob of Deer Park pitched a four-hitter for Bryant College as the Bulldogs defeated Sacred Heart 2-1 in game two of a double header on Saturday. Jacob pitched seven innings, allowed one run on four hits and struck out four. See a post-game interview with Jacob from Bryant College.
