Lacrosse
Mercy College’s Mike Marzocca of North Babylon had two goals and an assist as the Mavericks came up short against NYIT 13-6 in the team’s season finale. The senior attackman finished the season leading his team with 32 goals and 10 assists.

Farmingdale State’s Courtney Cook of Deer Park was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year. She led the conference in goals against average and is ranked second in the nation. She was also fourth in the country in save percentage.

The season has come to an end for the C.W. Post softball team. Alyson Dzierzynski of Deer Park, a freshman catcher for the Pioneers, completed her first college season with a .346 average with 9 home runs and 45 RBI.
Bryant College’s Jennifer Jacob of Deer Park pitched a nine-hit shut out in the Bulldogs 3-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday for her ninth win of the season.
Track & Field
The College of New Jersey women’s outdoor track and field program placed second overall at the 2012 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships held on Saturday at Richard Stockton College. In the 10,000m, freshman Jillian Manzo of North Babylon High School finished with a time of 40:17.50 earning six points for her team.
