Alumni Report: Senior Day Honors For Several Local Athletes
Column highlights athletic accomplishments of local high school graduates.

Lacrosse
• Courtney Cook of Deer Park, a goaltender for Farmingdale State’s women’s lacrosse team, was one of four players honored at Senior Day on Saturday. In the Rams 20-0 win over Sage, Cook had a quiet game with only two saves. On the season, she is 12-1 allowing only 6.03 goals per game. Farmingdale State is the top-seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference playoffs and will host Kean on Wednesday.

• Quinnipiac College honored four players on Senior Day this past Sunday, including Marissa Caroleo of North Babylon. Caroleo was one of the offensive stars for the Bobcats scoring two goals in the team’s 8-6 loss to Bryant. Check out a video invitation to Senior Day featuring Caroleo.
• Laura Palino of North Babylon was one of five seniors honored at SUNY Maritime’s Senior Day this past Wednesday. After receiving her honors, Palino made 11 saves in the Privateers 18-12 win over Sage.

Tennis
• Joseph Falcetta of Deer Park, a member of Farmingdale State’s tennis team, lost a tough match at #5 singles to Baruch on Saturday. After winning the first set 6-2, Falcetta lost the next two sets 6-2 and 7-5. The Rams are 9-5 on the season.
Track & Field
• The College of New Jersey women’s outdoor track and field team competed this past weekend at the Greyhound Invitational at Moravian College. Jillian Manzo, a North Babylon High School graduate, competed in the 5000m race and finished sixth with a time of 19:06.00.
