Armed Robber Steals Cash From Deer Park Subway: Police

DEER PARK, NY — A man who robbed a Deer Park Subway on Tuesday is currently being sought after by Suffolk County police.

At about 9:40 p.m., a man entered the restaurant, located at 1934 Deer Park Ave. The suspect displayed a handgun and an employee gave him cash, police said.

The suspect was described as black, about 30-years-old, and wore dark clothing and a face mask.

Vincent Lupo, assistant manager, told Patch that the employees recently assembled for a team meeting, to go over safety protocols.

"The employees are slightly shaken up," he said. "And the staff is all comfortable working."

The employee who handed the man cash, Lupo said, is also alright.

"They are doing fine," he said. "They were interviewed by police, and they feel confident coming back to work the next day."
