Babylon Politicians, Residents Hold Candelight Vigil For Haiti
The Wednesday night vigil encouraged attendees to pray for those affected by the recent earthquake and donate basic medical supplies.

WYANDANCH, NY —On Wednesday night in Wyandanch, prayers and needed medical supplies were requested for Haiti, rocked by a recent 7.2 magnitude earthqauke.
A candlelight vigil was held at Wyandach Plaza, organized by Suffolk County Legislator Jason Richberg, the Town of Babylon and Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre from District 11. Clergy members led those assembled in prayer and
Jean-Pierre is the daughter of Haitian immigrants and has spearheaded relief efforts to Haiti in the past.

"In 2010 we were here—we were here as Long Islanders. We came together no matter where you came from, the color of your skin, your age, we came together to support Haiti," she said at the vigil.
"Haiti has seen tragedy after tragedy after tragedy."

Basic medical supplies were collected, like bandages and first aid items, that will be sent to the country.
