Cook Receives Collegiate Lacrosse Honors

Deer Park HS graduate named to coaches association All-Boardwalk team for goalie play at Farmingdale State.

A former Deer Park High School lacrosse player now at Farmingdale State was named to one of the NCAA Division III’s All-Regional teams.

Courtney Cook was among three Farmingdale players to be selected by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for its All-Boardwalk Team. Those included on an IWLCA regional team are eligible for inclusion on one of the association’s All-American teams, which will be announced on Thursday.

Cook was named to the First Team after being named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year, posting a career-best record of 13-2 and leading the Rams to a regular season first place finish in the conference.

The senior goalie made 113 saves with a career-low 6.49 goals against average and a .536 save percentage. She leaves Farmingdale State with school records for most wins (30), saves in a game (23 vs. Montclair State on May 2, 2009), most wins in a season (13 in 2012), save percentage (.565 in 2009), goals against average (6.49 in 2012), games played (16 in 2011) and minutes played (1,011 in 2011).

A member of Deer Park High School’s Class of 2008, Cook was twice named MVP of the girls lacrosse team. She was also named All-League, All-County, Honorable All-County and All-Tournament.
