2n graders from Copiague School District visited Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve in Commack on a recent field trip.

COPIAGUE, NY — Second graders from Deauville Gardens East Elementary School in the Copiague School District recently became one with nature.

The students visited Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve in Commack where they learned about the farm animals, their interactions and their coexistence in similar ecosystems. The students also hiked through the woods to a pond where they observed turtles and birds.

When they returned to their classrooms, the children wrote about the trip and published their writing pieces on Google Docs.
