Deer Park High School sent 68 students to participate in DECA’s Suffolk County Regional Competition this winter, competing against over 1,000 students from 26 other Suffolk schools for spots at this year’s state conference.
DECA’s mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

In Deer Park’s most impressive showing over the past 20 years, 41 of these students received trophies, with another four students earning honorable mention. The team was guided by DECA adviser Gregory Menig.

The award winners went on to compete in New York DECA’s State Career Conference, held March 6-8 at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center in Rochester.
High School winter sports teams honored at Awards Night
Deer Park High School’s successful winter student-athletes were recognized at the school’s annual winter varsity sports awards night on March 5, hosted by Athletic Director Dominick Fontana.

Members of nine teams – cheerleading, kickline, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, boys bowling, boys swimming and diving, and boys and girls winter track – were presented with certificates and plaques recognizing Most Valuable Player awards, Coaches Awards, Spirit Awards and Scholar-Athlete awards.
