Deer Park Library Offers Fine Forgiveness for Food Donations

Library will waive overdue fines for those who bring in a canned food item throughout the month of April.

Deer Park Library patrons who have overdue items will get their shot a clean slate next month.

Starting April 2, the library is offering an amnesty program that will waive overdue fees in exchange for canned food items.

Residents need to bring in a can of food and the overdue Deer Park Library item by April 30 in order to have the fee forgiven. One can of food will replace one fine.

Library items must be undamaged in order to qualify. Items that are past due for more than a year cannot qualify.

The donated food will be delivered to local food pantries.
